The combination of the traditional Japanese whale shape and Silky’s unique 4-RETSUME teeth make the Zorin a masterly pull saw. The teeth are grinded in 4 rows of teeth that make for a great discharge of saw dust. The extra-large teeth create so much wood loss that you need quite some strength to handle this saw. By using the Zorin with two hands, the shoulders are more relaxed which has a fantastic effect on the sawing power necessary to saw big limbs or to remove trees.

It may require some practice and patience to create a sawing cut with the Zorin. Due to its progressive teeth ratio (from 5 to 6.5 teeth per 30 mm) the teeth closest to the handle are finer than those near the end of the blade, which makes the first cut a little easier. Once this saw gets going, it is unstoppable!

The long blade is full tang, making this saw incredibly strong and offers you more control. Working with this heavy duty handsaw goes so quickly that you can easily leave your chainsaw behind more often. Furthermore, the Zorin is lighter, safer and quieter than a chainsaw.

The comfortable rubber handle is big enough for two hands, absorbs vibrations and offers lots of grip. The Zorin will be delivered in a lightweight, polypropylene scabbard with waistband, so that you can always safely store the saw and have it at arm’s length.

Nice to know: Zorin literally means the creation of a forest: ‘zo’ means ‘to create’ and ‘rin’ means ‘forest’.

The Zorin is suited for pruning fresh wood and is available in two blade lengths: 340 and 370 mm.

As with any Silky saw, the teeth stay sharp for a long time. If deemed necessary, then the teeth of the Zorin can be sharpened with the Silky file.

The Zorin comes with a lightweight, polypropylene scabbard with a waistband. The bottom is equipped with a hole that drains moist and saw dust.

The blade must be kept clean to maintain its efficiency. Resin dissolves in olive oil, which is an effective and environmental friendly way to maintain the blade with. More aggressive liquids can damage the rubber material of the handle.

When not using the saw, make sure it is dry at all times. Store the saw in its scabbard in a dry place.
